Its me Komal Tanty persuing MTech in Digital Communication in MANIT, Bhopal recently got placed in Wipro VLSI. Well I am going to give u some basic idea to crack Wipro.
At first in ppt they asked all the electronics candidates, that if they wish to apply 4 electronics core i.e VLSI they must indicate VLSI on their ans sheet. The cutoff in written exam 4 VLSI will be higher than that of software.
So try to get good marks in written exams. Now let us analyse the written exam. It consists of 50 questions with no negative marks, but sectional cutoff was dere. Max time allotted was 1 hr. there were three sections.
20 ques from English,consisted of comma's, semi colon ques, vocab ques and no ques from reading comprehension.
Next 20 ques from reasoning n aptitude. Few apti ques were very simple like ques from ratio –proportion, work n time, percentage etc. Where as reasoning ques comprised of table type, non verbal reasoning, coding n few from puzzle test (r.s.aggrawal).
Next section comprised of 10 ques from C, C++ and computer n/w and those were very simple.
Overall cutoff was 35-45 % only. At our time 375 candidates were appeared 4 written test and approx 133 got selected. I got selected in written exam and got the higher cutoff hence got VLSI.
Now it was time for Tech Interview. The interview panel 4 VLSI was different from those of software. 4 VLSI all interviewers were electronics specialist., so be careful before answering any question. In my case the interviewer was computer n/w specialist. He saw my C.V first, based on that he fired following ques-:
Q) So, komal tell me something about u.
Ans) I gave my intro.
Q) He said any thing else
Ans) I replied, I believe live simple and think high n I am going to do something high for Wipro too.
Q) He asked abt zigbee (my seminar topic)
Ans) I answered.
Q) It is based on which type of protocol
Ans) Based on Ethernet protocol.
Q) He was miffed with that, he said wen u r in front of specialist u should think before answering.
Ans) Sorry sir, it is based on high level commn protocol. (n tht was correct)
Q) Tell me wht is spread spectrum.
Ans) Me answered
Q) Techniques of spread spectrum
Ans) Direct sequencing and freq hopping
Q) Basic disadv of spread spectrum.
Ans) Wider bandwidth so more noise interruption and hence reduction in s/n ratio.
Q) Wht is the b.w of video signal used in t.v.
Ans) 7 Mhz
Q) Draw the bandwidth diagram of video signal for black n white tv .
Ans) I drew.
q) Which type of A.M modulation used in picture signal
ans) VSB (very simple)
Q) Where does spread spectrum used widely in todays life.
Ans) In mobiles.they r also used in military application where high security is required.
Q) Quote some examples.
Ans) like RIM, TATA INDICOM for mobiles application.
Q) difference between 2 cavity klystron amplifier and reflex klystron.
Ans) both r based on velocity modln but the diff lies in efficiency ,o/p power,and their construction.
Q) ok komal in which field u wanna work in VLSI.
Ans) sir, I wanna work in chip designing section.
Q)but, for tht u hv to wait for some time. so r u ready to wait?
Ans) I answered yes sir.(at tht moment I was 90% sure that I got selected in tech interview )
And finally I got selected in tech interview too. tht was an astonishing moment for me. dear frienz cracking tech interview was not cake walk, it continued for 35-45 min. thats going to be arduous task for u too. Prepare well ur answer should be brief,to d point and fathomless.
And now the last stage, the HR Interview -:
Q) Mam stood up and said hello komal I am bla bla, plz take your seat
Ans) Hello mam, thank u.
Q) So howz ur tech interview.
Ans) Yeah, it was good but not best.
Q) So, what is the first thing that u r going to do after joining our company.
Ans) I'll try to understand working environment n try to find out how deeply this statement is considered that “wipro never compromises with quality” that u said in your ppt.
Q) Do u think after working in Wipro VLSI (ie tech field), u will bring some development to our country.
Ans) Yes yes definitely we r rising in technology.
Q) She smiled, ok quote me one example in your life till now where u proved your flexibility.
Ans) I answered.
HR interview was very good, she was not harsh at all rather was quite supportive and cooperative. frienz please be frank in hr interview if u try to bluff them then definitely they will find your flaws as they r not gullible persons.
Finally I got selected. I never prepared for Wipro, not even one hour before the commencement of written exam. What I believe it was not one day preparation that had worked rather it's the preparation one month before tht I started preparation of campus. So do not wait for high time to come start preparing from today itself n this will make u a perfect candidate. lastly, I always followed which helped me to get accomplishment in my life n that is –“PRACTICE MAKES A MAN PERFECT”.
